2024 Softball America Top 25 Poll: Week 2

How about Opening Week? While the top spot remained the same, there was plenty of movement in the Top 25 poll now that we’ve seen these rosters in action. Oklahoma is still No. 1 but its arch-rival Texas rises to No. 2 after putting it on UCLA with a 16-0 win, which subsequently falls out of the ranking after one of the week disappointing weekends in program history.

The biggest risers in the poll are Washington, Missouri and Kentucky. The Huskies showed they were too low in our initial poll by run-ruling Nebraska and taking Oklahoma to extra innings. Missouri comes off a perfect weekend with a pair of Top 25 wins over Utah and Clemson. While the Wildcats fell to San Diego State by a run, beating Stanford twice earns Kentucky a spot in the poll as well. Joining the rankings is Indiana which took down Oregon and played well against Clemson.
