Tennessee softball transfer class headlined by Fiedler, Mardjetko

Tennessee has won back-to-back SEC regular season crowns entering 2025. However, with the conference growing by adding two powerhouses in Oklahoma and Texas, a three-peat becomes harder. We take a look at how the Tennessee softball transfer class can push the team there. Karen Weekly has to replace the production of the graduated class which included Kiki Milloy, Payton Gottshall, Rylie West, Zaida Puni and Giulia Koutsoyanopulos. The Lady Vols, which is bringing in one of the best freshman classes, have added Kinsey Fiedler (Washington), Sage Mardjetko (South Carolina), Ryan Brown (Texas) and Aubrey Barnhart (Texas Tech) through the portal.

Taking a look at LSU’s incoming transfer class

LSU graduated a pretty successful senior class that made it to Super Regionals this past season. However, Beth Torina and company used the transfer portal to pick up three additions to a roster trying to break through to Oklahoma City for the first time since 2017.  The Tigers earned commitments outfielder Jalia Lassiter (Ole Miss), infielder Avery Hodge (LSU) and right-handed pitcher Ashley Vallejo (McNeese) for their 2025 squad.

2024 WBSC Softball World Cup Day 3 Recap

The third day of the 2024 WBSC Softball World Cup started and ended with thrillers. Japan and Canada rallied for walk-off wins to set up Thursday's Super Round.

The Boston University Terriers are coming off one of their best seasons in history going 53-6-1 in 2024. They return ace Kasey Ricard returns to lead the group, but the Boston U roster around her will look a lot different. What Jessica Clements brings to UCLA

UCLA has been more active in the transfer portal the past few years than it typically has been. The Bruins have only added one player via the transfer portal thus far this offseason but the fit makes a ton of sense. Reigning Big West Player of the Year Jessica Clements will spend her final season donning the four letters in Westwood after graduating from Cal Poly. 2024 WBSC Softball World Cup Day 1 Recap

The 2024 WBSC Softball World Cup started on Monday from Castions di Strada, Italy. The eight teams opened pool play in their respective groups. Japan came through, Netherlands found an upset, USA rallied and Italy hit a barrage of home runs.

Courtney Deifel has been one of the best at using the transfer portal to bolster her roster year in and year out. Countless Razorbacks; Braxton Burnside, Danielle Gibson, Chenise Delce, Bri Ellis to name a few, have found great success in Fayetteville. Deifel is hoping that the addition of two rising juniors Kailey Wyckoff and Karlie Davison can blend together with one of the best incoming 2024 recruiting classes.

The final tune-up weekend before the national tournaments sizzled on the thermometers, and on the field. Softball America was on hand in “Hotlanta” to cover the Atlanta Legacy tournament. As the heat and humidity took over the greater metro area, the athletes looked to be in prime form as their teams competed for the $10,000 prize.

Midway Thoughts from Colorado 4th of July, IDT

Fourth of July action from the Rocky Mountains did not disappoint as there were fireworks in the sky and fireworks on the diamond. The two major softball tournaments in the country are hitting the midway point as teams are battling in pool play for bracket seeding and national recognition. The Boulder Independence Day Tournament (IDT) continued pool play today with the 16U division competing in Longmont, Colorado and the 18U division battling it out in Boulder. One of the hottest 16U teams in the tourney is the GA Impact- Taylor squad which continues to attract college coaches by the truckload.
