2024 Softball America Top 25 Poll: Week 3
Through rain and shine, Division I softball had one of the wackiest weeks as most teams played an abbreviated schedule. The Top 25 cannibalized itself, making for one of the tougher polls in recent memory.
Oklahoma and Texas remain atop the poll after continuing to display dominance. While undefeated Georgia, one-loss Washington and Duke round out the top five. LSU and Missouri remained perfect as both Tiger programs entered the top 10. Texas A&M, another undefeated SEC squad, rose six spots after a 5-0 week in California after beating Oregon, San Diego State and LMU.
Arizona, Mississippi State, Cal and Penn State join the Top 25 for the first time this season. Despite the Wildcats losing their first game of the season, the pitching appears vastly improved and helped split two games with Arkansas. Mississippi State earned two road wins at Louisiana and two ranked wins in Mexico over Clemson and Utah. Cal is on an eight-game winning streak that includes an extra-inning win over Virginia Tech. Penn State has matched a program record, as the Nittany Lions have started 7-0 this season.
