2024 Softball America Top 25 Poll: Week 6
A Texas slip-up in Houston caused the only change in the top eight of the latest Softball America poll. The Longhorns had their struggles against the Cougars despite getting the series win. LSU and Duke move up as their winning streaks continue.
Meanwhile, after taking down Clemson in a midweek match, Tennessee and Virginia Tech fresh off another ACC series sweep enter the Top 10 as the Tigers and Alabama fall out.
Florida, Texas A&M and UCLA take decent-sized leaps into the Top 15 of the poll. The Gators won the series in Tuscaloosa with another to play on Monday and they keep looking back when they’re not playing Michigan. The Aggies rode the arms of Emiley Kennedy and Brooke Vestal to a sweep of South Carolina. The Bruins’ pitching and hitting both stepped up to open Pac play with a sweep of Utah.
Texas State and Georgia Tech join the poll for the first time this season. The Bobcats have been very impressive behind Jessica Mullins and swept Penn State before Sun Belt conference play starts. The Yellow Jackets enter a midweek contest with Georgia on a 15-game winning streak.
