Charlotte head coach Ashley Chastain to fill South Carolina vacancy

Ashley Chastain is headed back to her roots. The former Gamecock is set to lead the South Carolina softball program as first reported by Rounding Third Softball.

Chastain has been the head coach at Charlotte since 2020 and led the Niners to their first two postseason appearances the past two seasons.

She had previously served as the pitching coach at Ole Miss, Michigan State and College of Charleston. She started her coaching career as a graduate assistant at South Carolina in 2012 after playing in Columbia from 2009-2011.
