Washington assistant coach Victoria Hayward is set to be named the next head coach at Nevada, sources told Softball America.

Hayward has quickly risen up the coaching ranks as an offensive guru. The Huskies saw their slugging percentage rise from .488 to .532 this past season. Brooke Nelson, Alana Johnson, Rylee Holtorf, Kinsey Fiedler and others all enjoyed career years.

She previously spent two years as the associate head coach at San Diego State. During her two seasons with the Aztecs, the program posted back-to-back 39-win seasons, good for second most in program history in a single season. Under Hayward’s guidance, Aztec hitters posted the second and third-highest batting averages all-time in a single season in school history.

The Wolfpack finished 40-17 this past season as interim head coach Marina Demore led the group. They had a very good offensive year themselves. Hayward will be set to build off that momentum.
