Crash Kamon/Softball America

Welcome to Norman. Oklahoma looks to defend the title belt once again, going for the first-ever four-peat.

Norman Regional Schedule

Broadcast team: Roy Philpott, Jennie Ritter
*All times Eastern

  • Friday, May 17
    • Oregon 8, Boston University 0 (F/5)
        • The Ducks made quick work against Boston’s No. 1 ERA. Vallery Wong and Tehya Bird hit home runs against Kasey Richard and knocked her out of the game. Oregon also used its speed to cause havoc on the bases. Very impressive showing by Elise Sokolsky in the circle, limiting the Terriers to two hits.
    • No. 2 seed Oklahoma 9, Cleveland State 0 (F/6)
      • It was a slow start for the Sooners on offense but it finally exploded late. Riley Boone had a two-out RBI single that extended the fourth inning into a three-run frame. Tiare Jennings ended the game with her 93rd career home run, tying her for fourth all-time with Addison Barnard. Kasidi Pickering also went 3-for-3 with two homers in her postseason debut.
  • Saturday, May 18
    • Oklahoma 6, Oregon 3
      • After Kelly Maxwell gave up a first-inning home run to Ariel Carlson, she was close to perfect. Maxwell allowed one baserunner after that. Patty Gasso decided to turn to Karlie Keeney with the lead cushioned in the seventh but three hits and two Oregon runs later, Maxwell returned. She retired the three batters she faced. Tiare Jennings and Ella Parker homered. Jennings hit her 94th career home run, moving her to fourth all-time and one behind Lauren Chamberlain for third on the list.
    • Boston U. 8, Cleveland State 0 (F/5)
      • Kasey Richard bounced back with a quick shutout to keep Boston’s season going. Her offense came through in the third and fifth. Caitlin Coker drove in three runs and Lauren Nett had a pair of RBIs to set up the rematch with the Ducks.
    • Oregon 8, Boston U. 2 (Boston U. eliminated)
      • The Ducks had no issue with the Terriers’ pitching this week. Oregon raced out to a 8-0 lead that included home runs from KK Humphreys and Katie Flannery and RBI doubles by Alyssa Daniell and Paige Sinicki. Boston battled back to push it to seven innings but its magical season came to an end.
  • Sunday, May 19
    • Oklahoma 3, Oregon 2 (Oklahoma advances to Super Regionals)
      • Need a clutch RBI? Tiare Jennings is your girl. After watching Oregon erase Oklahoma’s early two-run lead, the Sooners presented Jennings with a prime RBI chance. Jennings delivered an opposite-field two-out single to give her team the lead once again. Jayda Coleman and Avery Hodge deserve much credit too. Hodge fouled seven straight pitches before being hit with a pitch. Coleman, who also scored twice, drove Hodge in on a double the next at-bat. Kelly Maxwell came in and closed the door for the Sooners to advance.
