Welcome to Tallahassee. The Noles have found their stride in the season half of the season and are hosting another regional. Will that result in another Oklahoma City appearance?

Tallahassee Regional Schedule

Broadcast team: Mark Neely, Carol Bruggeman
*All times Eastern

  • Friday, May 17
    • UCF 11, Auburn 6
      • This one didn’t line up as an offensive battle but it turned into one. The Tigers struck for six runs in the second and third innings. The Knights answered with nine unanswered runs. Shannon Doherty and Jasmine Williams both hit three-run blasts. Sarah Willis and the UCF pitching staff held Auburn to 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
    • No. 15 seed Florida State 3, Chattanooga 2
      • The Noles struggled with the spinny Peja Goold for most of the game. They put together their late-inning magic after falling behind 2-0 to Chattanooga. Florida State cut the deficit to one in the fifth. Isa Torres tied the game with a sacrifice fly and Devyn Flaherty tripled in the go-ahead run in the sixth. Florida State got good innings from Allison Royalty and Ashtyn Danley.
  • Saturday, May 18
    • Florida State 5, UCF 1
      • The Noles didn’t wait till the end to get the scoring done on Saturday. Florida State caused chaos that led to a five-run second inning. After a sacrifice fly brought in the first run, the Noles scored two on a wild pitch. Kalei Harding drove in two on a double. Mimi Golden had her most important start of the season. She went 4.1 innings allowing only one run. Ashtyn Danley closed it out throwing 2.2 innings, yielding one hit.
    • Auburn 9, Chattanooga 0 (F/5) (Chattanooga eliminated)
      • Can’t ask for a better plan. Score a lot of runs and let Maddie Penta go to work. KK McCrary, Makayla Packer and Anna Wohlers combined eight hits, two home runs and six RBIs. Penta tossed three hitless innings with five Ks before Annabelle Widra finished it off.
    • Auburn 2, UCF 1 (F/12) (UCF Eliminated)
      • Auburn outlasted UCF in an extra-inning marathon that lasted 4:28 minutes. Maddie Penta went the distance allowed just three hits in 12 innings of work. Penta faced 48 batters and struck out 21 to lead Auburn to a regional final. Makayla Packer led the offense with a solo home run and scored the go ahead run on an Amelia Lech single to left.
  • Sunday, May 19
    • Florida State 10, Auburn 4 (Auburn eliminated)
      • Knotted at three apiece through five full innings, Florida State busted the game wide open with a seven-run sixth inning. The Seminoles knocked starter Shelby Lowe out of the game and proceeded to score four runs off Auburn ace, Maddie Penta. Michaela Edenfield and Isa Torres both hit three-run home runs. FSU used a trio of pitchers: Ashtyn Danley, Allison Royalty, and Mimi Gooden. Danley worked efficiently before handing the game over to Royalty and Gooden. Danley re-entered in the fourth and ended what she started.

Florida State advances to the Super Regionals and will play No. 2 Oklahoma in Norman.
