Tara Henry and Jen McIntyre Lead New SA Investor Group

Tara Henry, the Head Coach of Great Britain Women’s National Softball team, along with former Division 1 Softball coach Jen McIntyre, will be leading a group of investors that will be taking over the publication Softball America. Henry & McIntyre will take the reins at Softball America as co-owners while former DI Softball writer Brady Vernon will serve as a National Contributor at Softball America.

Atlanta Braves pitcher JR Ritchie, Boston Red Sox minor league player of the year Roman Anthony as well as Ian Ritchie and Rhett Parker are also a part of the investment team for Softball America. This group is stressing the importance of investing in women’s sports and feels that it’s important to help shine a light on it and be a part of something meaningful. The Softball America relaunch will have brand new membership benefits and incentives that far and away exceed any other site on the internet, along with new and exciting contests, interactive games and in person meet and greets.

“I am thrilled to join the new Softball America team and excited for the journey ahead,” Said Tara Henry. “Partnering with Jen McIntyre, Ian Ritchie and Rhett Parker is an opportunity of a lifetime. I am excited to be a part of a group willing to invest and grow all aspects of softball. Jen’s knowledge, expertise, and decades of experience at the Division I level will allow us to not only guide student-athletes through the recruiting process but bring validity to recruiting rankings.” Henry added, “Ian and Rhett bring decades of experience in managing the intersection of technology, sports, and events. They have been instrumental in helping navigate and harness the true power of softball.”

Henry added, “Adding to the All-American team is national contributor Brady Vernon, who will cover college softball and provide rankings, analysis, and feature stories”

“I am excited to be a part of this incredible team with Softball America,” Said Jen McIntyre, “We are anxious to continue to grow the game and will serve as the trusted source for media coverage, rankings, recruiting, polls, and bracketology. We have assembled a team that seeks to consolidate the market as well as provide authenticity and validity to our platform. We sought out the best in each department and I am excited to be a part of the journey.”

“Ian and I are excited to be part of this dynamic group of investors,” Said Rhett Parker. “Softball, like all youth sports, needs to focus on creating young fans of the sport. We hope to bring that focus and grow the sport universally.”

Henry & McIntyre’s accolades speak for themselves, starting with an NCAA Softball National Championship with the UCLA Bruins. In 2019 Henry became the head coach of Great Britain’s Women’s National Team. In 2022 Henry was named managing editor of http://www.d1softball.com/, an online media publication covering all things Softball in 2019-2023.

Jen McIntyre’s career began at Indiana University and included stops at Penn State, Boston University, the University of Connecticut, and most recently Ohio State, and has gained 24 years of coaching experience at the Division I level and has served as the recruiting coordinator at multiple institutions. She has spent years scouting the country for talented athletes to help programs win championships both in the classroom and on the field. She is currently in the team sales division at one of the fastest growing equipment companies in fastpitch at Marucci Sports.

Brady enters his sixth season covering softball. After covering Arizona State’s run to the Women’s College World Series as a student journalist and getting his first taste of Oklahoma City, he’s been hooked on growing the sport to the best of his capacity. He feels that this Softball America rebrand is the best opportunity to continue to shed light on what this great sport has to offer and gives him the chance to make softball his priority in his career.
