Stillwater Regional Schedule

Broadcast team: Beth Mowins, Michele Smith, Jessica Mendoza
*All times Eastern

  • Friday, May 17
    • Kentucky 4, Michigan 3
      • This game was defined by aces and home runs. Stephanie Schoonover and Lauren Derkowski battled against each other as the opposition traded home runs. In the end, it was the blooper that decided the game. Kentucky loaded the bases with a pair of soft singles and an international walk of Grace Lorsung. Ally Hutchins flew a ball to right with two outs that a leaping Indiana Langford couldn’t secure at second base as the Wildcats earned the win.
    • No. 5 seed Oklahoma State 6, Northern Colorado 0
      • The Cowgirls nearly became the second Big 12 team with a no-hitter on Friday. Lexi Kilfoyl and Ivy Rosenberry kept the Bears hitless until two outs in the seventh. Jilyen Poullard spearheaded the offense with a home run and an almost-home run (initially ruled a home run, ruled a double after review). She finished with three RBIs. Rosie Davis and Lexi McDonald drove in the other runs.
  • Saturday, May 18
    • Oklahoma State 6, Kentucky 2
      • It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish. The Wildcats scored a pair in the first after a rough opening for the Cowgirls. Lexi Kilfoyl locked in after that. Kentucky struggled against the dropball as Kilfoyl didn’t allow another baserunner until the seventh inning. She finished with 12 strikeouts. Jilyen Poullard keeps hitting home runs. She homered in the first to start a four-run inning and added an insurance run in the sixth. Claire Timm also drove in a pair.
    • Michigan 4, Northern Colorado 2 (Northern Colorado eliminated)
      • Maddie Erickson said let’s keep partying. The Michigan third baseman sent a two-run walk-off homer to the party deck in Stillwater to extend the Wolverines’ season. Erickson and Lilly Vallimont had the RBIs earlier in the game to even it at two after falling behind early.
    • Michigan 4, Kentucky 2 (Kentucky eliminated)
      • Vallimont kept her hot bat. She hit a two-run home run in the second. The powerful Keke Tholl got in the action the next inning with her own two-run blast. That was all the run support that Erin Hoehn and Hannah George needed. George picked up the save with three perfect innings.
  • Sunday, May 19
    • Oklahoma State 4, Michigan 1 (Oklahoma State advances to Super Regionals)
      • It was the typical formula for the Cowgirls, pitch well and power home runs. Lexi Kilfoyl allowed a first-inning run but the ball didn’t bounce her way between infield singles and little flares. She responded well as she did earlier in the week. Kilfoyl retired 17 straight batters at one point and allowed one more hit after the first. Lexi McDonald and Karli Godwin homered against Lauren Derkowski.
